Data Engineering is the practice that enables data-driven decision-making by collecting, transforming and publishing data. Data Engineers design, build, operationalize, secure, and monitor data processing systems, focusing on security and compliance, scalability and efficiency, reliability and fidelity, flexibility and portability. 

This training program has been developed for motivated beginners possessing basic knowledge of Java or Python.

You will familiarize yourself with main characteristics of big data and its sources; get acquainted with architectural requirements, principles of big data infrastructures, and the intersection of cloud computing with big data. You will also learn the most popular big data technologies, including core Hadoop, NoSQL databases, Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, etc.


The program includes self-paced part and final testing.

During the self-paced part of the program, you will study theory and check your knowledge by completing assigned tasks. Due to build-in instructions you will be able to navigate your learning path smoothly. Following the completion of your studies, you will move on to the final testing. You must score 70% or above and have B2 or higher English level to pass it.

After completing this program, successful graduates will get an opportunity to continue their path within EPAM according to their level, skills, and available opportunities for future juniors.

  • Practical experience in Java, Python or Scala programming languages.
  • Basic understanding of Relational Database Management System (DBMS) theory. 
  • Fundamentals of Structured Query Language (SQL).
  • English knowledge on the Upper-Intermediate level (B2) and higher level.

The self-paced stage consists of 2 modules, lasts for approximately 3 months and requires around 12 hours of dedicated time per week. 


1 module 'Basic technical self-paced course': 

  • IT Fundamentals 
  • GIT 
  • SDM 
  • Cloud Overview 

You need to score 70% or higher on the final test.

 

2 module 'Data Engineering Intro self-paced course':

  • Data Modeling and Architecture 
  • Basic SQL 
  • Big Data and Hadoop 
  • Intro DevOps

  • Active participants of ЕРАМ University and EPAM System company are not allowed to register for the training. Please contact your Manager regarding the positions available.
  • Training is available only for people located in Poland.
  • EPAM Systems does not cover any costs associated with obtaining visas and work permits for students, who are required by law to obtain such visas and permits.
